In the course of getting Howlin’ Lamb off the ground, Sophie and I spent lots of time getting a sense of the Boston blogger landscape (and procrastinating at our actual jobs) by reading as many pages as we could. This week, we were lucky enough to meet the lovely face behind one of our faves, Pink Bubbly. On top of having an online storefront for adorable, glitzy jewelry and monograms, Michelle Michaud also maintains a blog of her fashion escapades. Think lots of Kate Spade, Lilly Pullitzer, and an anniversary Eurotrip with her hubby that would make you swoon. While we’re not sure that either of us look that good in pink, we were thrilled to see an invite to Pink Bubbly’s party at In the Pink, the Lilly Pullitzer store on Newbury St. Invitations promised lots of pink champagne and treats, and we were certainly not disappointed.
One of my very sweet friends, Arielle, recently passed along a Gilt coupon for Itadaki, a Japanese restaurant near my apartment, and we finally got around to trying it tonight. This friendly shop on Newbury (which also has outdoor seating, so get there while it’s still warm) aims to be a Japanese gastropub, offering small plates of a wide variety of treats in addition to the staple sushi and ramen selection. Since we were using the Gilt pass, our choices were obviously limited, so we settled on some Riesling and bowls of their basic Shoyu ramen.
Much like Christmas Eve, the night before the halfway point of the work week should be held in the highest regard. To that end, Sophie and I decided to wine and dine ourselves at Sonsie Tuesday night, a beautiful bar and restaurant on Newbury. Sonsie holds a very special place in our hearts, because it was actually the site of our first-ever friend date (when plans for a casual glass of wine turned into trying half the cocktails on the menu). Once we recognized our kindred spirits, plans for Howlin’ Lamb came just a few months later!
