Last Saturday, Steph and I hopped on the red line for a jaunt to Harvard Square. We were planning on visiting the Fungus Fair we wrote about in our Week Ahead post – turns out the word “fair” was used quite liberally, but it was held in Harvard’s Natural History Museum, which is a pretty cool spot in and of itself.
We enjoyed the minerals & gemstones exhibit in particular. Something about those rocks and stones is so fascinating – they’re gorgeous (we especially liked the bright blues… not a color you often see in nature), and they also speak volumes about the land from which they came. On one of the back walls, where larger stones are housed, we found ourselves surprised by how much each piece “looked like” its origin country or region. A large rock from Arizona, for example, was a stunning turquoise.
